Handwara Police Crack Down on Facebook Fraud: Trio Arrested for Honey Trap Scandal
Srinagar, July 20 (KS):- Police in Handwara have solved a facebook cheating case by arresting 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
As per the statement issued to news agency Kashmir Scroll, a police spokesperson said that Police Station Vilgam received an application regarding cheating on Facebook through Honey trap and grabbing money.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 43/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Vilgam and investigation was set into motion, he said, adding that during the course of investigation, three persons were arrested in the commission of this crime who had created a fake facebook account.
The trio were cheating people by impersonating as girl identified as Firdous Ah Tantray s/o Mohd Shafi Tantray, Danish Ah Bhat s/o Gh.Mohd Bhat and Aaliyan Ah Bhat s/o Ashiq Hussain Bhat, all residents of Dohama Vilgam.
Subsequently, the accused persons have been taken to custody and their mobile phones have been seized, police said, adding that further investigation in the case is going on.
People have been requested not to fall in the trap of cheaters/Fraudsters on social media and not to share personal details with unknown persons.(KS)
