Grandparents Day Celebrated with Fanfare at Birla Open Minds International School Pampore

Pampore, October 2, 2024 : (JKNN) Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS), Pampore, marked Grandparents Day with great enthusiasm today, hosting a heartwarming event that united students with their grandparents for a day filled with fun, music, and cultural nostalgia.

The event featured various engaging games, giving students the chance to spend quality time with their grandparents. The lively atmosphere was enriched by performances from the school’s talented Music Department. A standout performance came from Ayaan Sajjad, a student at BOMIS and a well-known singer, captivating the audience with his musical talent.

The highlight of the day, however, was a mesmerizing performance by renowned Kashmiri singer Noor Mohammad Shah and his team. Their soulful renditions transported the audience back to their cultural roots, evoking strong emotions and drawing applause from all present.

Mr. Abdul Aziz Mir, Chairman of the BML Welfare Trust, addressed the audience, saying, “Grandparents are the bedrock of families, providing love, wisdom, and stability. Their role in preserving our culture and guiding future generations is irreplaceable.”

Echoing his words, Mr. GM Lone, Secretary of the Trust, emphasized the responsibility grandparents hold in preserving the Kashmiri language and serving as role models for the younger generation.

Dr. Mehnaz Khan, Principal of BOMIS, opened the event by welcoming the guests and celebrating the enduring bond between generations. She highlighted the critical role grandparents play in children’s lives, acting as a bridge between the past and the future.

The celebration beautifully blended entertainment with tradition, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of connection to their cultural heritage and a deeper appreciation for the vital role of grandparents in shaping future generations.
