Govt to take action against PHE employees indulging in private works during duty hours, Plumbers Association welcomes the move
Srinagar, Jan 1, KNT: All Jammu and Kashmir Plumbers Association has thanked the LG administration for taking cognizance of the PHE employees who were indulging in private works despite being government employees.
Manzoor Ahmed Dar, President All Jammu and Kashmir Plumbers Association while addressing a press conference in Srinagar said that some PHE employees were hell-bent to snatch their livelihood by doing their (private plumbers) job during the duty hours.
“We had raised the issue with the authorities requesting them to curb the illegal activities of some PHE employees who instead of doing their work are doing the job of private plumbers, thus hitting their livelihood,” he said adding that LG administration in this regard has issued a circular thus prohibiting these employees to indulge in private work during duty hours.
He displayed the government circular during the presser that reads: “It has come to the notice of
this Directorate through various representations that field staff/employees of this Department are indulging in private jobs during duty hours resulting compromise in deliverance of their Govt. Service. The issue has been viewed seriously and to curb such practices, it is impressed upon all the subordinate officers of this Department to keep tight vigil upon all the employees especially who are discharging their duties in the field and take immediate necessary action as warranted under Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Conduct Rules.” [KNT]
