Ganderbal murder case, accused arrested within hours ; Police

Ganderbal, May 19 (KS) : The accused in the murder of a young readymade shop owner Fayaz Ahmad Dar of Kacchan Ganderbal, killed yesterday, was arrested within hours of commiting the heinous crime.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the brutal murder that took place in Kachhan Pirpora village last evening had sent Shockwaves across the area.

According to the Station House Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad, the absconding accused identified as Manzoor Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Rashid Wani of the same locality was arrested near his home after hectic efforts and effective use of technology by Ganderbal Police. He said the accused had tried hard to evade his arrest but police team did it’s best to locate and nab the culprit within hours and he was sent behind the bars.

When asked what was the actual reason of the scuffle and motive behind the Murder, S.H.O said the matter is under investigation.

Pertinently Shopkeeper Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hasan Dar, the owner of a ready-made shop in Kachan Pirpora, was seriously injured in the attack by the accused with a sharp knife yesterday and the attacker Manzoor Ahmad Wani fled away from the crime scene.

In the meantime, critically injured shopkeeper was taken to the hospital, but he couldn’t survive and lost his life due to a deep stab wound in the chest near his heart.

A criminal case in this regard has been registered under FIR No. 109/2024 under sections 307, 452, 302 in the police station Ganderbal he added. (KS)
