First FIR Filed Under New Law in Shopian as Woman Allegedly Kidnapped
Shopian, July 01, KDC: Police Station Zainapora received a written application from one Mohd Imtiyaz Khan, son of Mohd Hafeez Khan, a resident of Reasi, currently residing in Chitragam Kalan in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com, Khan in his complaint, reported that his sister, name withheld, has been kidnapped by Sartaz Ahmad Poswal, son of Wazir Mohd Poswal, a resident of Sugnadi Reasi, currently residing in Chitragam Kalan.
In response, the police have taken cognizance of the matter and registered FIR number 56/2024 under section 137 (1-a) (2) of the BNS Act at PS Zainapora. This marks the first FIR filed under the newly enacted law in Shopian, an official said.
The police have initiated an investigation to locate and safely recover the lady and apprehend the suspect. (KDC)
