Not others, Farooq Abdullah says Engineer Rashid should prioritise his own release
Srinagar, Oct 12 (NVI) : National Conference party chief Farooq Abdullah said on Saturday that Engineer Rashid should focus on securing his own release from jail instead of pleading for the release of prisoners from Kashmir.
“First, he must free himself; what can he do for other prisoners?” he said in response to a question about Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, who was seeking the release of prisoners during a meeting with LG Manoj Sinha.
The NC president further stated that his top priority will be to unite Jammu and Kashmir.
Engineer Rashid, who was lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with a 2017 terror funding case, was recently released on interim bail.
Earlier, Rashid was granted interim bail until October 2, which was extended by 10 days on October 1. Now, the court has further extended the bail by three more days, pushing his surrender date to October 15 instead of October 13.—(News Vibes of india)
