DLSA Srinagar Conducts Thorough Inspection of Central Jail Srinagar

Srinagar, 28th September 2024 – (JKNN) The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, under the guidance of Mr. Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA/Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, and the supervision of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA Srinagar, conducted an extensive inspection of the Central Jail Srinagar.
During the visit, Mr. Beg and Ms. Hakak, accompanied by senior prison officials, inspected various facilities including the Jail Legal Aid Clinic, Vocational Training Centre, Medical Center, and the Women Block Prisoners’ area. The inspection aimed to assess the living conditions of inmates and ensure their rights and welfare are upheld. The team also engaged with inmates to address their concerns and promote access to essential services such as legal aid and vocational training.
The DLSA reaffirmed its commitment to improving jail conditions and empowering inmates through sustained collaboration with the jail administration.
