Disturbing Trend Continues: Bandipora District in Shock as Another Sexual Assault Incident Reported

Man Booked Under the POCSO Act: Police

Bandipora, Oct. 15 (KS): Bandipora district in the northern region of Kashmir has been shaken by yet another distressing incident of sexual assault. Another man has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl.

Reliable sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that police have apprehended a man whose identity is being withheld in compliance with legal protocols. He has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The incident took place in the Hajjin area of Bandipora.

A police officer also confirmed this unfortunate incident to News Agency Kashmir Scroll and said the accused has been booked under the POCSO Act, and further investigation into the case is on.

It is disheartening to note that this incident follows two other recent cases.

In one case, a teacher was booked under the POCSO Act for reportedly tearing a student’s hijab during a classroom activity.

In the second case, a man was arrested on charges of allegedly raping a minor girl. (KS)
