District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar in collaboration with Vitasta Law College organized a Legal Awareness Programme on Legal Aid Defence Counsels Modified Scheme, 2022 and awareness on Pan India Campaign on “Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman” at Vitasta Law College Nowgam Srinagar.

The programme was held under the direction of Mr. Jawad Ahmed, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar.
The main aim of the programme was to create awareness among law students about the Legal Aid Defence Counsels Modified Scheme, 2022 which provides legal aid to the marginalized and vulnerable sections of society. The scheme aims to ensure that every citizen has access to justice for all, regardless of their economic or social background. The programme was attended by the Principal, Staff Members of Vitasta Law College, Officials, Panel Lawyers, LADCs, Law Students and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar.
Ms. Tasneem Kausar, Deputy LADC of DLSA Srinagar, was the resource person for the programme. She highlighted the key features and benefits of the scheme, emphasizing its importance in promoting access to justice for all and ensuring that the rights of all citizens are protected. The programme was interactive, with the law students, who actively participating in the discussion and seeking clarification on various aspects of the scheme.
As part of the Pan-India campaign ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’, ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ was recited by the Principal, Staff Members, officials, LADCs, Panel Lawyers of DLSA Srinagar and Law students under Sankalp Saksharta.
The programme was a huge success, with the participants appreciating the efforts of DLSA Srinagar in organizing such a informative and engaging programme. The event reinforced the commitment of DLSA Srinagar to promoting legal awareness and ensuring that the benefits of the Legal Aid Defence Counsels Modified Scheme, 2022 reach the targeted beneficiaries and it was a step towards promoting legal awareness and empowering the future generation of lawyers to contribute towards the cause of access to justice.
