BSF personnel dies while on election duty in Gurez
Gurez, Sep 16 (NVI): A BSF personnel died while on election duty here in ITI Gurez after he fell unconscious and later passed away, yesterday late night, officials said.
Official sources told NVI that a personnel of the 75th battalion of BSF fell unconscious while on election duty in the Gurez area. He was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead on arrival.
They said his body has been referred to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Dawar for a postmortem, and it will be handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
He was later identified as Barber Ram Babu Thakur, son of Brijnath Thakur, a resident of Salugara Bazar, Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal.
Meanwhile, investigations have been initiated. —(NVI)
