Body found in river Jhelum near Safa Kadal identified: Officials

Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNO): The body of a man that was found in river Jhelum near Safa Kadal area of Srinagar on Sunday morning has been identified, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that as the body was recovered from the river Jhelum near today morning it was taken to SMHS for medico-legal formalities.
The body was later identified as Basharat Ahmad Bhat of Naidkadal locality of Khanyar. “Basharat was missing and a report was also filed at Khanyar police station in this regard,” he said.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and body will be handed over to his legal heirs for last rites—(KNO)
