Blasphemous Content:
Book the offender, MP Ruhullah to Srinagar Admn. Police file criminal case
Srinagar, June 6, KNT: Newly elected Parliament Member and National Conference leader Ruhullah Mehdi has asked the district administration Srinagar to book immediately the non-local medical student for his blasphemous social media post about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He said the mere suspension of the erring student is not enough.
Government Medical College Srinagar has already suspended the offender and has formed an in house committee to probe the matter.
Ruhullah Mehdi in response to the action of the offender said, “This has become a habit of some students in different institutions of Srinagar to post disrespectful content about Prophet (SAWAW). The recent offense from a student in GMC Srinagar is a fresh example.”
He added: “These repeated offenses cannot be tolerated in any civilized society. We give due respect to the religious figures of other religions and we expect the people of other religions to be equally civilised.”
“The Srinagar administration should take immediate action and book this offender immediately under law. A mere suspension of the student is not enough,” the MP from Srinagar constituency said.
In wake of the prevailing situation, GMC Srinagar has ordered the suspension of undergraduate classes from today (June 6) to June 8.
Meanwhile, Srinagar Police has registered a criminal case, FIR No. 13/24 under section 153,153A, 295A, 505 (2) IPC has been registered at Police Station Karan Nagar against the offender.
