Awaam Supports Security Forces in Rajouri Operation to Eliminate Hiding Militants ; Army

Rajouri, Oct 03 (KS): Indian Army said that the ongoing encounter, now in its second day, in the forest area of Soom-Broh village in Rajouri district has seen an overwhelming show of support from the local community.
A senior Army official, speaking to the Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Scroll, highlighted the remarkable cooperation and support from the Awaam in the village.
He said the people have been actively assisting and providing full support to the security forces in their efforts to eliminate the militants hidden in the woods.
The official also emphasized that the operation is being conducted with utmost care in diverse terrains to prevent any collateral damage.
The security forces are diligently working to ensure the safety of the residents and minimize any disruption to their daily lives.
Earleir in the day two Army soldiers sustained injuries on during the encounter.
Both the soldiers were evacuated from the site and are currently receiving treatment at the Army hospital in Rajouri where both are said to be stable.
The gunfight erupted on Monday evening after an extensive day-long search operation conducted by the security forces in the woods. (KS)
