Australia Triumphs Over England in Record-Breaking Chase at ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Srinagar 22/02/2024 (JKNN) Lahore: Josh Inglis’ unbeaten century overshadowed Ben Duckett’s historic 165 as Australia secured a thrilling five-wicket victory over England in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
Despite a shaky start, Australia successfully chased down a mammoth 352-run target in just 47.3 overs, with Inglis smashing an unbeaten 120 off 86 balls. Earlier, Duckett made history by becoming the first batter to score 150+ runs in a Champions Trophy match, leading England to a formidable total of 351/8. His innings surpassed the previous tournament record of 145, held by Nathan Astle and Andy Flower.
With this victory, Australia also set a new record for the highest successful run chase in ICC men’s tournament history.
