Srinagar 01/03/2025 (JKNN) As soon as the holy month of Ramadan begins, the prices of essential food items, including fruits and vegetables, see a sharp increase, making it difficult for common citizens to afford them.
Many vendors take advantage of the increased demand and resort to unfair profiteering, doubling or even tripling the prices of daily-use items.
Concerned citizens have appealed to the authorities to take strict action against such practices by conducting regular market inspections.
They emphasize that price checks should be done on a daily basis to prevent traders from exploiting consumers. Additionally, they urge officials to keep a close watch on fruit and vegetable sellers to ensure fair pricing and stop illegal profiteering.
