Apni Party Zonal president resigns, says ‘some people have hijacked party’
Srinagar, Sep 01 (NVI): In a major jolt to Apni Party, the party’s Zonal president for Chanapora, Srinagar, today announced his resignation along with dozens of party workers.
Addressing media men in Srinagar, AP’s Zonal president Aijaz Ahmed Khan, said that he has no grudge against the party chief Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari but there was “lobbyism at its peak within the party.”
“I was in touch with my workers since past over three months. So my decision to quit isn’t in a haste. After giving it a thought, I decided to resign from the party. Our hard work was going waste as the party’s agenda is being hijacked by some people who aren’t even well-wishers of the party,” Khan said. Apni Party chief is contesting from Chanapora Assembly constituency himself. Khan, however, didn’t clarify, which party he was going to join. “I will consult my workers again on this,” he said—(News Vibes of India)
