An Awe-Inspiring and Patriotic Celebration: District Judiciary Budgam in Collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Commemorates 78th Independence Day in Budgam

BUDGAM, August 15, 2024 – The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervor at the District Court Complex in Budgam. The event, a tribute to the nation’s spirit of freedom and justice, was highlighted by the hoisting of the National Flag by Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam, Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary. He also took the salute from the guards in a moving display of respect and national pride.The celebration, a vibrant reflection of India’s journey to independence, brought together a distinguished gathering including Additional District & Sessions Judge, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan; Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dr. Noor Mohammad Mir; Special Mobile Magistrate, Mr. Sheikh Gowher; Civil Judge Jr. Division, Ms. Farrah Bashir; officers from the Prosecution Department; members of the legal fraternity; court staff; officers and staff members of DLSA Budgam; and para-legal volunteers (PLVs).In his special address, Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary emphasized the importance of August 15th, marking the end of British colonial rule and the birth of India as a sovereign nation. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the national heroes, freedom fighters, and revolutionaries who paved the way for the nation’s independence. He also spoke on how the celebration fosters national unity, integrity, and solidarity among all Indians, highlighting that August 15th, 2024, is a significant day for Indians worldwide to celebrate their nation’s independence and diversity.The event also featured a heartwarming gesture from Mr. Choudhary, who distributed sweets among the guards, symbolizing the deep bond between the protectors of the land and its citizens.Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at the Tehsil levels of District Budgam, where chairpersons of the Tehsil Legal Services Committees (TLSCs) also hoisted the National Flag and took the salute from the guards, marking a unified celebration across the district.
