AICC chief falls sick while addressing Pol rally in Jammu, Party says he is stable

Jammu, Sep 29 (NVI): All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Malikarjun Kharge fell sick during a political rally in Jasrota, in Kathua district of Jammu today, soon after he was suggested the party men to pay tributes to the policeman who was killed in Kathua encounter yesterday.
Kharge was about to conclude to his 40-minute speech in Jasrota area of Jammu when party men suggested him to pay tributes to fallen Head Constable Bashir Ahmed, who was killed in an encounter at Kog area of Bilawar in Kathua district yesterday. As soon as the
AICC chief tried to read “shradanjali (tributes) for the slain policeman, he found himself shaky and uncomfortable. He couldn’t utter a word and was immediately provided support and water by the party leaders on the stage. Born in July 1942, Kharge is 82-year-old at present. He has been accompanying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to J&K to address election rallies.
A Congress leader present on the occasion told NVI that Kharge is stable know and it seems he got tired due to the temperatures. “There was no fan or cooler at the stage and perhaps that is the reason why Kharge ji fell sick,” he said. The Congress leader immediately called the ambulance after which the AICC chief was removed to district hospital Kathua where doctors attended to him on priority.
“He is stable now and has been kept under observation. He has been continuously campaigning for the Congress and seems he is tired a bit,” said Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir, who was accompanying Kharge. (News Vibes of India)
