Mother and Infant Charred to Death in Poonch
Poonch, Jan 21, KNT: A mother and her five-month-old son lost their lives in an incident caused by a gas cylinder leakage in Jandrola, a remote village in Poonch district of Jammu.
The mishap occurred when the gas leak triggered a fire in the kitchen, engulfing Shazia Akhatre and her infant son, resulting in their deaths.
The village headman confirmed to the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the blaze was confined to the kitchen and did not cause damage to the rest of the house.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. [KNT]
