Auto Driver Booked For Allowing Minor Boy To Drive In Bhaderwah

Doda, Nov 20 (KS) : Police in Bhaderwah town of District Doda took decisive action against a traffic violator by booking the owner of an e-Auto Rickshaw for allowing a minor boy to drive the vehicle.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the minor boy hit two individuals, causing them injuries in the town.
He said Police have registered a case against the vehicle owner, Mohd Ismail, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act. Besides, also arrested the owner and seized the Rickshaw.
Meanwhile, the minor boy has been produced in the Juvenile Court to face charges for the incident.
A police officer told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that
this incident is a part of Doda Police’s ongoing special drive against traffic violators. He said many FIRs have been registered against drivers, and a significant number of vehicles have been seized and fined for various violations, including overloading and exceeding seating capacity.
The officer further said that Police have issued a warning to vehicle owners and parents of minors, emphasizing that if any vehicle, irrespective of its type, is found being driven by unauthorized drivers or minors, stringent action will be taken against the owners and parents under the law. (KS)
