Kashmir University ‘Leaks’ Expert’s Panel Composition of Grand Viva Voce, Aggrieved Students Demand Inquiry, Raise Fingers on Examination Secrecy

KU ‘Leaks’ Expert’s Panel Composition of Grand Viva Voce, Aggrieved Students Demand Inquiry, Raise Fingers on Examination Secrecy

Srinagar, Oct 9, KDC: Kashmir University has stoked fresh controversy by ‘leaking’ a list of panel compositions for various examinations which otherwise is a confidential matter like question papers.

Kashmir University held the examinations of BA-LLB and LLB in September, this year. A senior professor at School of Law, KU, said that the examinations are being held by the Controller of Examinations Kashmir University.

The last paper titled Grand Viva Voce consisting of forty marks for different semesters is going on. However, to the surprise of students, the penal composition of experts was ‘leaked’ and also was shared on social media, with students aghast, terming it ‘question paper leakage.’

The first Grand Viva Voce of BALLB 3rd semester was held on 7 October and the penal composition was the same as leaked in the document. Similarly, for BALLB 5th semester, the penal composition was also the same as mentioned in the ‘leaked document.’

“This amounts to leakage of question paper. It is a scam. How can authorities leak the penal composition list for all Grand Viva Voce exams? It is a cheat, criminal breach of trust and injustice to hard-working students,” said a group of aggrieved law students of Kashmir University.

They added that the upcoming Grand Viva Voce for BALLB 5th, 7th, 9th and LLB 2nd, 3rd and 5th are scheduled in coming days and the penal composition list is already out.

“We want the Kashmir University Vice Chancellor to order a high level inquiry in this matter and bring the culprits to justice, failing which the students will lose confidence in the secrecy of examinations. Justice must be delivered,” said another group of aggrieved students.

Dean faculty of law, Kashmir University, Professor Mohammad Hussain told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the panel compositions for various examinations are being finalized by Controller examinations in consultation with the concerned deans of the department. “This doesn’t fall under ‘secrecy’, still we change the panel from tomorrow,” he added.
