Man drowns while saving son in Qazigund

Qazigund, Aug 19 (KNO): A man drowned while attempting to rescue his five-year-old son after the child accidentally fell into Nallah Sandran at Nussu Badragund area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the father-son duo had gone to the area to attend a marriage ceremony when the child fell into the water channel.
The child, Imad Zahoor (5), was rescued and shifted to Emergency Hospital Qazigund, where he is undergoing treatment and is stated to be stable and under observation.
The deceased has been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Nigenpora, who drowned while trying to save his son.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings—(KNO)
