GANDERBAL, AUGUST 14 (KNC): The Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road has been reopened for traffic after landslides at Zojila, Ranga Mod, Minamarg and several other locations were cleared, officials said on Thursday.
The landslides were cleared overnight through coordinated efforts by the Traffic Police, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and local police, restoring connectivity along the affected stretches.
Officials said that all vehicles stranded due to the landslides have also been safely evacuated, and traffic movement on the route has returned to normal.
Authorities said vehicles will be allowed to move as per the prescribed traffic advisory once the required clearance and green signal are issued.
Motorists have been advised to strictly follow traffic advisories and directions issued by the authorities while travelling on the SSG Road and exercise caution at vulnerable stretches.(KNC)
