Troops Carry Out Restoration Work After Cloudburst in Kargil
Kargil, August 3, KNT: Army troops from the Forever in Operations Division carried out relief and rescue operations in the Gund area of Hardass in Kargil district after a cloudburst triggered flash floods, officials said.
According to officials, the troops responded immediately after the cloudburst, evacuating affected residents from vulnerable areas and providing first aid, drinking water, essential supplies and cooked meals to those impacted by the flash floods.
The Army, in coordination with the civil administration, assisted in clearing debris and restoring road connectivity as well as water and electricity supply in the affected area.
Officials said the joint effort was aimed at ensuring timely relief and facilitating the restoration of normal life in the affected villages following the natural calamity.
The cloudburst had triggered flash floods in Gund, Hardass, disrupting normal life and damaging infrastructure in parts of the area. [KNT]
