“Seeks Urgent Flood Safeguards in Central Anantnag”
Anantnag, July 25: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Saturday said that the country’s youth have created history by demonstrating remarkable unity, patience, and determination in their struggle against injustice, proving that collective resolve can overcome any challenge.
Reacting to the resignation of the Union Education Minister amid pressure over the CJP issue, Shah said the development marks the defeat of arrogance and those who attempted to play with the future of the nation’s youth.
“The youth have shown that peaceful struggle, unity, and determination can defeat any injustice. This should serve as a lesson to those who believed they could undermine the aspirations of students and young people,” Shah said.
He asserted that the BJP must understand that playing with the future of the country’s youth cannot guarantee its political survival. “The failures and misguided policies of the government have been exposed, and people across the country have awakened to the need for accountability, justice, and a better future,” he added.
Referring to the nationwide movement against corruption and alleged irregularities, Shah said the struggle united people from all sections of society and should inspire the people of Jammu and Kashmir to collectively work for the restoration of their democratic rights. He stressed that the spirit of unity must now be channelled towards the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and the rights that were lost after August 5, 2019.
Imran Shah appealed to all political parties to rise above political differences and join hands in the collective struggle for the restoration of statehood, instead of, as he alleged, serving narrow political interests.
Meanwhile, during his visit to several areas of Central Anantnag, including Issoo, Adeh-bal, Teelwani, and Nunwani, Shah urged the administration to immediately undertake the repair of flood channels and construct protection bunds to safeguard agricultural land from potential flooding.
Shah said timely intervention would protect standing crops, minimise losses to farmers, and provide much-needed relief to residents living in these flood-prone areas. Shah emphasized that strengthening flood protection infrastructure must remain a priority to ensure the safety of livelihoods and agricultural productivity.
