ANTF Kashmir Destroys Seized Narcotics Worth Lakhs At Lassipora Facility
Srinagar, July 08 (GNS): The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir on Monday destroyed a large quantity of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through incineration at the government-approved disposal facility in Lassipora, Pulwama.
Officials told GNS that the destruction was carried out in compliance with directions of the Hon’ble Courts. The contraband pertained to multiple NDPS cases registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir.
The process was undertaken after obtaining requisite court orders and strictly in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, NDPS Rules, 2022, and the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring all legal formalities were complied with.
The destruction was carried out in presence of the Drug Disposal Committee for ANTF Kashmir and other designated officers to ensure complete transparency.
During the exercise, 618 grams of Charas, 55 kg and 229 grams of Ganja, and 800 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon were destroyed.
ANTF Kashmir said the action reaffirms its firm commitment to eliminating the narcotics menace and ensuring that seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances are disposed of in a lawful, transparent and timely manner.(GNS)
