Police Arrest Accused in Sukhcha Masjid Incident In Reasi, Appeal for Peace
Reasi, July 5 (GNS): Reasi Police has arrested the accused involved in the recent Sukhcha Masjid incident and appealed to the public to maintain peace and communal harmony in the district.
An official told GNS that under the supervision of SSP Reasi, a police team led by SDPO Arnas along with SHO Police Station Arnas apprehended the accused involved in FIR No. 54/2026 registered at Police Station Arnas under Sections 331(6), 352, 115(2), 298 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The arrested accused has been identified as Pyar Singh S/o Pritam Singh, resident of Patian, Tehsil Thuroo, District Reasi.
During interactions with members of the public, particularly the Muslim community, Reasi Police assured them that prompt and strict legal action has been taken in the matter.
Police also urged all sections of society to maintain peace, brotherhood and communal harmony and not to pay heed to rumours or misinformation that may disturb the peaceful atmosphere.
“Reasi Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all communities. Any attempt to disturb public order or communal harmony will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law,” the police said.(GNS)
