Bear That Injured Man in Gowran Successfully Tranquilized After Three-Hour Rescue Operation
Gowran, July 1 (KNC): The bear that attacked and injured a local resident in Gowran on Wednesday was successfully tranquilized by the Wildlife Protection Department following a meticulously planned rescue operation that lasted nearly three hours.
According to official sources, the wild bear attacked a resident in the area, triggering panic among locals and prompting an immediate response from the Wildlife Protection Department. Soon after the incident, teams from the Wildlife Control Room Achabal, acting under the directions of the Range Officer and the Wildlife Warden, rushed to the spot along with personnel from the Police and the local administration to launch a coordinated search and rescue operation.
After an extensive search and sustained efforts, the rescue teams successfully tranquilized the bear without causing any further harm to the public or the animal. The operation concluded safely, bringing immense relief to the residents who had been living in fear following the attack.
Officials said the injured person was immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment, where he is receiving necessary medical care. The tranquilized bear will now be relocated to a suitable forest habitat in accordance with established wildlife conservation and management protocols.
The Wildlife Protection Department appealed to people residing in bear-prone areas to remain vigilant and avoid venturing alone into forest fringes, orchards, or other isolated areas, particularly during the early morning and evening hours. Residents have also been urged to immediately inform the Wildlife Department or local authorities about any movement of wild animals to help prevent such incidents and ensure timely intervention.
