Kashmir Records Season’s Highest Temperatures; Srinagar Sizzles at 35.3°C
Srinagar, June 29 (JKNN): The Kashmir Valley continued to reel under intense heat on Monday, with Srinagar recording a maximum temperature of 35.3°C, which is 5.3°C above normal, making it one of the hottest days of the season.
According to data compiled by Kashmir Weather, other stations across the Valley also witnessed significantly above-normal temperatures.
Qazigund recorded 33.8°C (5.0°C above normal), Kokernag 32.9°C (5.0°C above normal), Kupwara 32.7°C (2.7°C above normal), and Pahalgam 29.0°C (3.6°C above normal). The famous hill resort of Gulmarg also experienced unusual warmth, recording 26.2°C, which is 5.2°C above normal.
In the Jammu region, Jammu city registered a maximum temperature of 36.9°C, slightly 0.1°C below normal, while Katra recorded 35.6°C, Banihal 31.9°C, Batote 29.3°C, and Bhaderwah 32.9°C, all remaining above normal levels.
The persistent rise in temperatures has led to hot and humid conditions across Jammu and Kashmir, with residents eagerly awaiting relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions.
