MHA Transfers Anand Jain to Ladakh, Appoints Him DGP Ladakh
New Delhi, June 23 (KNC): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, on Monday ordered the transfer of senior IPS officer Anand Jain (AGMUT: 1999) from Jammu and Kashmir to the Union Territory of Ladakh and appointed him as Director General of Police (DGP), Ladakh, with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the transfer and posting of Anand Jain has been approved by the competent authority. The order states that he shall assume the charge of DGP, Ladakh, with immediate effect and will continue in the position until further orders.
Anand Jain, a senior AGMUT cadre IPS officer, has been serving in Jammu and Kashmir and has held several important assignments during his policing career. His appointment is expected to strengthen the security and law enforcement framework in the strategically important Union Territory of Ladakh.
The order, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs from Kartavya Bhavan, New Delhi, was signed by C.P. Vinod Kumar, Under Secretary/Consultant, MHA. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Chief Secretaries and senior administrative authorities of various AGMUT cadre jurisdictions, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Delhi, Goa, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and others for necessary action.
The transfer order came into effect immediately upon its issuance on June 22, 2026. (KNC)
