Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNO): A labourer who had sustained critical burn injuries in the Khonmoh cement factory incident succumbed to his injuries after battling for life for three days at SMHS Hospital here, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the labourer, who had sustained severe burn injuries in the incident on Thursday evening, succumbed at the hospital on Sunday morning.
Notably, seven labourers had suffered burn injuries on June 18 after a machine installed inside the cement factory allegedly developed a defect and burst while they were on duty. All the injured workers were shifted to hospital for treatment, where one of the critically injured labourers succumbed to his injuries this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat (40), son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of Arin, Bandipora.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further investigation.—(KNO)
