Kargil Man Brought Dead to SMHS After Being Shifted by Police

Srinagar, May 23, KNT: A 48-year-old man was declared brought dead at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar after he was shifted there in an unconscious condition by a police party.
Hospital sources told KNT that the deceased was identified as Sonam Namgiyal, son of Ching Dorgi, a resident of Panchirah, Kargil, presently residing at Hyderpora in Srinagar.
According to available information, a police party from Police Post Humhama brought the man to SMHS Hospital after he was found unconscious. However, attending doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The immediate cause and circumstances surrounding the death were not known at the time of filing this report.
As per standard medico-legal procedure, police are expected to take further legal and medical steps to establish the exact cause of death.
The incident has been taken up for necessary proceedings. [KNT]
