Srinagar Police Attaches Properties Worth Over ₹3.5 Crore of Drug Peddlers Under ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan’
Srinagar, May 09 (KNC): Continuing its intensified crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties worth over ₹3.50 crore belonging to three notorious drug peddlers involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act.
According to police, in the first action, property worth nearly ₹80 lakh belonging to a hardcore drug peddler identified as Shahid Mushtaq Dar, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Barthana, Qamarwari, was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. Investigations revealed that the property had been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking activities.
In another major action, Police Station Nowgam attached property belonging to Mehrajuddin Ganie, son of Mohammad Ismail Ganie, resident of Wagoora, who is involved in FIR No. 156/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at PS Nowgam.
Police said the attached property includes 18 marlas of land, a single-storeyed residential house, and a cow shed situated under Survey No. 273 at Wagoora in Tehsil BK Pora. The total value of the property is estimated at around ₹1.50 crore. Investigations established that the assets were procured through proceeds of the illegal narcotics trade and were subsequently attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
Further, in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Saddar Srinagar, a double-storeyed residential house worth approximately ₹1.20 crore belonging to accused drug peddler Tawqeer Ahmad Mir, son of Late Feroz-u-Din Mir, resident of Rawathpora, Baghat Barzulla, was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in the presence of the Executive Magistrate Chanapora and independent witnesses.
Police officials said these actions demonstrate the firm resolve of Srinagar Police to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and ensure that properties acquired through narcotics trade are identified and confiscated strictly under the law.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to continue the relentless campaign against drug abuse and appealed to the public to cooperate in eliminating the drug menace from society and making Jammu & Kashmir drug-free.(KNC)
