Srinagar 05/12/2024 (JKNN) In a decisive step to reclaim public spaces, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) conducted a large-scale anti-encroachment drive today under the leadership of Anti-Encroachment Officer (West), Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (Furrier) Speaking to JKNews Nation, Mr. Bhat emphasized the importance of maintaining public pathways.
The operation, executed in collaboration with Ward Officer 23 and the D.O. Police Station Chattabal, covered areas including Kak Sarai, Darish Kadal, Chattabal, Qamarwari, Bemina, and nearby localities.
Encroachments were removed on the spot, with strict warnings issued to offenders to refrain from encroaching on footpaths and pavements in the future. This effort underscores SMC’s commitment to ensuring a pedestrian-friendly Srinagar.
