Beerwah, Feb 4, KNT: The Tehsil Administration Beerwah has issued a stern circular directing field-level revenue functionaries to promptly resolve minor and routine public nuisance issues at their own level, warning that lapses and delays will invite responsibility.
In the circular issued by the Office of the Tehsildar Beerwah, serious concern has been expressed over an online grievance related to the lifting of cow dung which remained unattended at the field level despite a 15-day time period having been granted. Due to what was termed as non-seriousness and lack of timely action, the Tehsil Administration was compelled to intervene personally in a matter described as minor in nature.
The circular categorically states that issues such as accumulation of cow dung, creation of public nuisance, encroachments, water supply problems, electricity-related issues, road obstructions, minor disputes and line damage matters fall squarely within the jurisdiction of field staff and must be resolved promptly at the grassroots level.
All Patwaris, Numbardars and Chowkidars have been directed to mobilise local resources and ensure that such routine matters do not escalate to the Tehsil Administration. The order underlines that Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar or higher officers should not be required to visit the field for resolution of minor civic issues.
The circular further clarifies that only in cases where an issue remains unresolved despite due efforts, or becomes complex in nature, should it be escalated to the Tehsil level. Field functionaries will be held accountable for any lapse or delay in addressing grievances.
Reiterating the directive, the Tehsil Administration has stressed that henceforth minor public nuisance issues, including those related to cow dung, must not reach the Tehsil office and should be handled efficiently by the concerned staff at the local level. Strict compliance of the circular has been enjoined upon all concerned. [KNT]
