Coldest Night Recorded
Srinagar Shivers at –4.4°C, Coldest Night of the Season
Srinagar, Nov 27: (JKNN) The Kashmir Valley witnessed an intense cold wave as Srinagar city recorded the coldest night of the season with temperatures plummeting to –4.4°C. The sharp fall in mercury marks one of the chilliest November nights in recent years, according to local meteorological officials.
The severe dip in temperature led to frost formation on roads and rooftops, while several water bodies in the city’s outskirts partially froze. Residents woke up to biting cold conditions as the cold wave tightened its grip over the Valley.
The Meteorological Department has predicted continued dry and cold weather over the next few days, with night temperatures expected to remain below freezing in most parts of Kashmir.
