Fire Erupts from Cow Shed in Awanta Bhawan Dar Mohalla Srinagar; Police, Firefighters, and Locals Prevent Major Tragedy

Panic gripped the Awanta Bhawan Dar Mohalla area of Srinagar on Tuesday Morning after a sudden fire broke out from a cow shed, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and triggering fear among nearby residents.
The incident occurred in a densely populated locality, raising serious concerns as the flames began to spread rapidly toward adjoining residential houses.

Upon receiving information, Fire and Emergency Services teams, along with Police personnel from Police Station Soura, rushed to the spot. Local residents also joined hands with the authorities to contain the fire. The coordinated effort between the locals, police, and firefighters helped prevent what could have turned into a major disaster.
A local resident, Mohammad Irfan zaz, who witnessed the entire incident, said the residents were deeply thankful to the police and fire service personnel for their prompt and courageous action.
“The moment the fire started, the locals tried their best to control it, and soon the police and fire brigade arrived. They worked truly hard and showed great dedication, managing to save the surrounding houses from catching fire,” Irfan said.
According to initial reports, the fire is believed to have originated due to an electrical short circuit or a possible spark inside the cow shed, though officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause. Firefighters battled the flames for over an hour before successfully bringing the situation under control.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, property loss has been reported in the form of damage to the cow shed .
Local residents have lauded the quick response of the Fire and Emergency Services Department and Police Station Soura, emphasizing that their joint effort saved multiple families from suffering heavy losses. Authorities have begun further investigation to determine the precise cause of the fire.
