Several Kashmir Areas to Face Power Disruptions: KPDCL Issues Detailed Schedule
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 25:
The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts of the Valley to facilitate necessary maintenance and repair works on various transmission lines and grid stations.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, power supply on the 33 KV Pampore–Pulwama line will remain affected, resulting in the shutdown of Newa, Kakapora, LIS Marvel Stage I, II, III & IV receiving stations. Consequently, areas including Kakapora, Pahoo, Nehama, Kakapora Railway, Newa, Gadoora, Zadoora, Parigam, Narbal, and adjoining localities will experience power interruptions from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM on October 30, and November 2, 6 & 10, 2025.
Similarly, shutdown of the 132 KV Grid Substation Rawalpora will be carried out, affecting power supply to Rawalpora, Chanapora, Peerbagh, Bones & Joint Hospital, Bagh-i-Mehtab, B.K. Pora, Khanda, Wanbal, Doodganga, Rangreth, JKLAI, BEACON, FIL Industries, RASU and Airforce receiving stations. These areas will face outages from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on October 29, 2025.
The department further informed that the 132/33 KV Grid Station Shopian will also remain shut, disrupting power to Keller, Pinjura, Batpura, Agalar and nearby villages on November 2, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.
In north Kashmir, the 122 KV D/C Pattan–Delina/Amargarh–Sheeri Transmission line, 132 KV D/C Pattan–Magam Transmission line, and 132/33 KV Grid Substation Magam will be under maintenance. This will affect Magam, Mazhama, Kongamdara, Ahmedpora, Dhobiwan, Kunzar, Aripanthan, Khag, Beerwah, Arizal, and adjoining areas on October 27, 2025, between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM.
Likewise, the 132 KV D/C Amargarh–Arampora Transmission Line Circuit I & II will undergo maintenance, leading to power disruption in a large number of areas including Sopore, Delina, Sangrama, Ladoora, Watergam, Handwara, Kupwara, Lolab, Machil, and adjoining localities on November 2, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.
Additionally, shutdown of the 132 KV D/C Arampora–Vilgam Transmission Line and 132/33 KV Grid Substations at Vilgam and Arampora will result in outages across Nutnussa, Chogal, Handwara, Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Tarathpora, Tangdar, Teetwal, and several other adjoining areas on the same day and time.
The KPDCL has urged consumers to cooperate during these essential maintenance operations, stating that the temporary inconvenience is necessary to ensure the reliability and safety of the power supply network across Kashmir.
