Article 370 revocation ended Pak interference in J&K: Union Minister Reddy
‘Our politics clean, always talked about roll back of J&K’s special status, one flag, one constitution, one leader mission fulfilled’
Srinagar, Aug 30 (NVI): Union Minister and BP’s J&K affairs incharge G Kishen Reddy today said that BJP has always played clean politics without befooling people unlike Abdullah’s, Muftis and Gandhis while as the revocation of Article 370 was what the party had promised since beginning.
“Some parties are trying to befool the voters and innocent people of J&K that they will get back Article 370. Let me make it clear that this Article has gone forever and won’t come back. People should not fall prey to these fake promises and hollow slogans,” Reddy told press conference in Jammu.
He said ever since Jan Sangh was formed, the slogan to scrap the Article 370 was raised by the activists. “When BJP was formed, all our manifestos talked about revocation of Article 370 and we did what we had promised. This was not for gaining power but our commitment to give the rights people of J&K deserved and were deprived of by the regional parties like National Conference and PDP followed by Congress,” he said. “Because of the Article 370, J&K witnessed terrorism, Pakistan’s interference, separatist rule and what not. Today, Pakistan’s interference in J&K has gone down to 98 per cent. All sections be that Valmikis, SC and ST category people have been given rights they were yearning since past so many decades.”
He said for BJP this election is not just an election but an “Andolan” against Rahul-Omar alliance. “I am using Andolan word against the alliance Rahul and Omar have entered into. This Andolan is against revival of Stone pelting, terrorism, and Pakistan’s interference. Our Andolan is to give back the rights to Kashmiri Pandits and other sections,” Reddy said.
He said that no matter how far the regional parties would go, Article 370 won’t return. “It has been buried to ensure that J&K progresses and remains a peaceful place,” he said. He said BJP tried to talk to Pakistan when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of India. “But what happened. Pakistan never changed intentions. Vajpayee went to Pakistan with a hand of friendship but intensions were never clear from the other hand. Pakistan always wanted to promote terrorism,”
he said, adding that now people have to decide themselves.(News Vibes of India)
