8 Persons Injured in Road Accident in Uri

Uri, Dec 05 (GNS): Eight people were injured on Friday after a Tata Sumo skidded off the road in the Garkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told GNS that a vehicle, bearing registration number JK05 7331, was travelling from Uri towards Kaller when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer from one side of the road to the other, leaving eight persons with injuries.
The injured persons, identified as Iftikhar Ahmad Naik, Gulzar Ahmad Naik, Sajad Ahmad Naik, Sadiq Ahmad, Mubeena Bano, Gh Nabi Naik, Manzoor Ahmad Naik, and Mohd Ashraf Malik, were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri for initial treatment.
Block Medical Officer Uri, Dr. Balvinder Singh, told GNS that all the injured were stable. “They are being referred to GMC Baramulla for CT scans and further evaluation as some have complaints related to head injuries,” he said.
Police have in the meantime taken cognisance of the incident. (GNS)
