40-50 Quintals of Dead Meat Found Near Sozeith Graveyard, Later Buried by Authorities

Srinagar 30/01/2025 (JKNN) Sozeith ‘Narbal’  A massive quantity of dead meat, estimated to be around 40-50 quintals, was found dumped near the Sozeith graveyard in Green Park.

The unidentified individuals responsible for the dumping remain unknown.

In the morning, local residents spotted the meat and raised concerns about potential health risks. Upon receiving information, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), in coordination with officials from Ward 26, the local police station, and Tehsildar Narbal, took immediate action. The dead meat was collected and buried in a designated pit to prevent the spread of disease.

Locals have called for a thorough investigation into the incident and legal action against those responsible.

They also expressed gratitude to the municipal authorities for their prompt response, acknowledging that had the meat remained exposed, it could have posed a serious health hazard to the area.
